I already made one in the Austin section. There was another article on it from the Business Journal.

Oh. Lol. I should know better than to ask before looking by now. I think that is like the third time I have done that and you already had a thread up.

Edit: I added the link in the OP.

The article actually said apartment towers. I could see Trinity Place as a possibility, but Waterloo Park Tower is supposed to be mixed use with medical offices, commercial offices and condos. I wonder if one of the other apartment towers that will be announced soon is the one we've heard about, but never seen renderings for that's in the same block as 7th & Rio Grande.

We've seen the elevations for 7th & Rio Grande, which was originally supposed to be condos, but now apartments. There was that other one, though and I think it was associated with Ron Thrower Designs and was also on the city's latest emerging projects poster. IIRC the address for the Ron Thrower one was 701-711 West Seventh.

Yeah, I noticed a crew out there recently doing some test drilling. Wondered if something was afoot.

My thoughts were the same when I saw a few people on the site about a month ago, also in a few days they should be releasing the concepts of the 4 finalist for the Waller Creek project.

Has that started construction yet? It's been in the planning stages since 2008. The address is 900 West 26th Street. It's that vacant lot at the end of Pearl Street north of West 26th Street.

According to the site plan, it's 90 feet tall. That lot is allowed 120 feet.

Here's the Site plan.

Not that looks bad and infill is nice, but it's funny how new urban buildings in Texas cities often look like someone used a super-size-me laser on a standard suburban apartment complex building and wrapped it around a parking deck.

Again, not a bad thing, it's just kind of funny.

Yep, it's U/C. Also here is another building they just completed Called 908 it's on W.21st St. Right in front of the new 6 story building on W.21st & Pearl.

There is no website for this building as of yet, the image came off google images.

Here are the Final Four: http://wallercreek.org/finalfour/

Just go to the page that has the four teams and click on one to see its idea

The displays should be up tomorrow!

Edit: When looking at the ideas for those teams on the above link, try moving the bottom image. There is a spot at the bottom of each teams idea where there are images that look small. It is below the "Team Concepts" and below that it says "Drag the images below to left/right to view all design concepts." Do that and you can see it better.

Frost Bank Tower among properties changing hands in $859 million deal

By American-Statesman Staff | Wednesday, September 19, 2012, 09:35 AM

In a deal valued initially at $859 million, a major Austin real estate portfolio previously owned in part by failed investment banking firm Lehman Brothers Holdings has been sold to a partnership formed by Los Angeles-based Thomas Properties and the California State Teachers Retirement System.

The deal involves eight office buildings in downtown and suburban Austin, including the Frost Bank Tower, 300 West 6th Street, One American Center, San Jacinto Center and One Congress Plaza, as well as Westech 360, Park Centre and Great Hills Plaza in Northwest Austin.

Looks nice and I love the bats in the rendering. Also, does anyone know what the deal is with the "Moon Units" on South 1st? We just moved in across the street and this seems to be a weird place for abandoned lofts. Online it says the were built in 2009 and there are still advertisements for them.

The "Moon Units" are in a trustee's hands because of some crazy litigation between investers and builders. Who knows how long the arbitration will last.

I absolutely love the MVAA/Michael Van Valkenberg design. It seems to have the most bridges and parks. Kind of also obsessed with that beautiful "Palace"
