God, all those new condos look the same. It's like a high rise version of cookie cutter suburbia. Vancouver's pre-1980 buildings look so much more big city and elegant. Hopefully, Vancouver won't build any more of those all glass condo towers. They're wrecking an other wise beautiful city.

^While I'm no fan of the samey-style condos throughout Vancouver, they certainly aren't 'wrecking' the city - maybe if you view the city from a helicopter everyday. From the ground, the buildings are fine.

Vancouver has that ''highrises jungle'' feel that I love so much. Toronto has it to. Montreal is half way there.

Love it, that is my favorite skyline angle of any Canadian city. The true dense urban vibe and colours in that photo is amazing.

To continue the Metro Vancouver theme...

Here is a pic I took yesterday of the New Westminster skyline.

The New West skyline is terribly hard to photograph, for some reason it just doesn't have that many good vantage ponts without obstructions in the way. This was taken at an awkward angle with the camera lense pressed against the skytrain window.

I feel I finally did it! haha!

'Wrecking' was too harsh, but they certainly bore me to tears. I much prefer Vancouver in post # 2432! Now that's what I like a city to look like: variety of styles, architecture, heights, colours, materials, and built right out to the lot line to form a strong apron. It looks absolutely fabulous! A few glass condos to the lot line add visual interest, but not a sea of them and not set back from the street.

Stone, metal, brick, different colours, shapes, even pre-cast, mix of office/residential/institutional, different styles of architecture? Just not all the same material, all the same usage, all the same style, basically all the same shape, all the same colour. Good grief!
