This give the Bountiful Trax extention another reason to be built. I wouldn't be against having a streetcar run along Beck St either. Going up either 400 W or 300 W and terminating (for the time being) at Eaglewood. 300 W has more growth potential, but 400 W is much more pedestrian scale.

If Trax were to extend into Bountiful, Beck St could become another great entrance into the city, similar to what is going to happen on N. Temple, hopefully sooner than later.

I would love to see that happen, but I recently noticed that the south davis street car has been removed from UTA's website under the projects link. Also, under the long term plan, that route is listed as a bus rapid transit. While I'd love to see another TRAX line coming, I think this one may be a ways off, if at all.

I think nearly all rail expansion was pushed to the 35 to 40 year plan.

The only rail left in the 30 year plan are the loops in downtown for Trax. The streetcar isn't on the list as it came up after the 30 year plan was finalized.

These plans may and most likely will change. As the population is expected to double in the next 30 years, rail expansion will be needed in that time.

Very cool. Looking at the website it is not only a first for Utah, but a first in the west as well. There is a Shula's steakhouse in Arizona but not a 347. MOst of the locations are back east.

These people should be reminded that if Millcreek becomes a city, they'll no longer have the privilege of having a "Salt Lake City" address.

I didn't know this, seems kind of pretentious to me. I thought people living in say South Jordan wrote "South Jordan" on their address... Is this really not the case; do people around the valley just write "Salt Lake City?"

Most address verification services list the addresses within Salt Lake County as being within Salt Lake City.

This is because of the starting point for the address system is within Salt Lake City. As the majority if not all of the County use the same address system with the same starting point, they are all able to claim Salt Lake City on their addresses.

I live in Kearns but when I order online, I am requested to change my city from Kearns to Salt Lake City as it is a verified address that way.

Once you are outside of the Salt Lake address system, you will be required to use the correct city for your address.

A peek into the new Sandy Scheels

SANDY — Scheels, a sporting goods retail chain, allowed employees and guests to tour its new Sandy location on Thursday.

In addition to the sporting goods, the store boasts a Ferris wheel and aquarium.

"Part of it is the entertainment, part of it is that we pride ourselves in our service, and our training, and the expert advice that you'll get from our people on the floor," said Scheels' Karen Jones.

I was actually just in Reno, NV over Labor Day and went into their Scheels. From the pictures, it looks like they are almost identical. It's a huge store.

Reminds me of when Ultimate Electronics opened in Sandy in the 90's. It was supposed to be an "experience" not just a store, and it was... the one time I went. And that, I guess, was the case with everyone. Everyone went to check it out because it was so hyped, and then never came back. Now it's a Costco, I think.
Not saying this will suffer the same fate, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if it does.

I think you mean Incredible Universe. I think that it is a completely different market. I did go inside the IU and it was pretty cool but that whole market dropped off aka Circuit City, Future Shop.

With the amount of Outdoor's enthusiasts, I think Sheels will do well. Cabela's has been open for several years and is still very busy whenever I make it down there. With the added component of golf and other athletic sporting sections, I think they will do well.
