Well from St-Denis/St-Cath to let's say St-Cath/University is 1.7 km. From Préfontaine métro station to the bottom of the pic is another 3.2 km. At an average of 4.5-4.7 km/h you can add another hour + 10-15 minutes waiting for the street lights. You get a total of about 3 hours.
The extreme east end of downtown St. John's viewed from behind the first hill. You can see Signal Hill and the Battery on the left, some of the downtown buildings including the Johnson Building and the Sheraton Newfoundland Hotel, and the Fort Amherst Lighthouse and the Southside Hills on the other side of the St. John's Narrows.
The hill is quite steep. The only reason you can see any of these taller buildings at all is because they're built so far above sea level. The vast majority of downtown St. John's isn't visible from the other side of the hill.

Me too. Soccer, ultimate and and sometimes espresso gelato at Yaletown Gelato after a scrimmage. (although im lactose intolerant and would get bloated the whole night)

Beautiful. Two questions for our St. John's cohort (which seems to have grown recently):
(1) How far are the above homes from central St. John's?; and
(2) How expensive would such homes be (generally speaking of course)?
This is the sort of place I could see myself retiring.
