Probably won't happen (at least not in the next 3-4 years), but Calgary needs some 40 -50 story residential builgings in the Beltline and the Near West-End!

The Tour des Canadiens and hopefully, a tall enough Place de la Cité Internationale are gonna have quite an impact on Montreal's skyline from that angle.

^^^ Wow, it may not seem like it, but walking from the bottom of the picture to downtown would take a couple hours.

I once walked from St. Denis to Préfontaine metro station at 3am completely drunk. It took me about 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Well from St-Denis/St-Cath to let's say St-Cath/University is 1.7 km. From Préfontaine métro station to the bottom of the pic is another 3.2 km. At an average of 4.5-4.7 km/h you can add another hour + 10-15 minutes waiting for the street lights. You get a total of about 3 hours.
