Ok, Ok! You guys know what it's like to have a woman drag you around a shopping mall --- right??!!! Everything's a blur.

(Yah, . . . it —!)

Anyway, I just remember the store looking really nice and that it had an [of all things] a striking beautiful floor; and, that they are also opening in Regina during October.

Stopped by 13th av Safeway tonight - inside of store has been mixed up to accomodate construciton of some sort - bread selection still —. Anyhoo...they are redoing the curbs in the parking lot - don't think I've seen a project where the parking lot was one of the first items tackled. All the homes (well the ones they own anyway) behind are gone with just holes in the ground left. I assume they were demolished vs moved.

The homes behind Safeway were demolished. Piling design for this project had to be changed and reapproved before construction can start is what I heard.

There is a Man-shield sign on the fence. The only other project I can recall this Winnipeg company building in Regina was the College Park Retirement Residences across the street. I am guessing this is phase II. Phase I was a big building at 167 units but not a high rise.

Orange construction fence on the west side of that building next home hardware on Rochdale Blvd that was a Wendys/Arbys/ some barbecue place now.

Also behind Canadian oil change next the the Credit union place and car wash, something is going on in the dirt lot on Rochdale Blvd.

3D mapping

Not Regina related as our city map is not yet available but thought some of you would find this site pretty cool.

Downtown plaza at night

The downtown plaza was buzzing with activity last Thursday night for "Salsa on the plaza." Lots of people mingling and dancing to a lively Latin beat. The colourful lights gave a perfect backdrop. Wonderful to see this use of public space (...imagine the party that will take place here during next year's Grey Cup Festival).

The plaza entrance looks spectacular at night!

Great pics Urban - thanks.
Re: use of the plaza during Grey Cup - lets hope they use the plaza for more than food trucks and portable bathrooms.

I have been down there on Thurs night and the vibe is fantstic with lots of people around and the salsa music. The City should PAY groups like that to use the Plaza.

You are right. It doesn't really look like an A&W. I just heard a while ago that it was...and never paid much attention to it. I drive beside it everyday as I workout at the Y and my kids go to daycare there. I'll ask around and see if anyone knows.

It does look more like a quick lube place, but the back exit would take you right into the Tim Horton drive-thru line.

There is already a Great Canadian Oil Change just down the street. Jiffy Lube or Mr. Lube? Seems like a strange spot for it.

I posted a similar photo to this one about 4 months ago. Here's an update from last week:

Today's LP states that Cabela's is setting up shop in Regina. (Harbour Landing/Grasslands area.) The store here will be similar to Saskatoon's

This is great news for south Regina. Combined with the former Walmart redevelopment, and continued Harbour Landing commercial development, it's a super exciting time for retail in the south end!

I still say they should build an Olive Garden in the NE corner of the Southland Mall parking lot ha ha Here's to wishful thinking!
