Montréal est right beau la. Honestly, its charm is an absolute must see for tourists who've never before visited Canada. I'd love to see the city's balance of French and English more commonly in other Canadian cities.

And even though projects in the downtowns of Toronto, Vancouver, and Calgary have taken more of the spotlight recently, I'm glad to see core developments taking off in Montreal now as well.

Why would they do that!? Crazy people all over the place!..

This shot of Toronto could be mistaken for a 2nd tier Chinese city.

edit: if you blur your eyes, just a little.

^^^ Also, what is the newest and tallest tower in regent park we see over there? The one with dark blue glass between a white crane and a yellow crane. Is there a few pictures of the project on this site?

No idea. Here's a pic before they were painted in the late 1990s (click image for full-size 3779 * 2963):

That's the Scarborough Town Centre and that tower that dominates it is actually not located there but closer to where this picture is taken. It's at Eglinton Avenue and Pharmacy Avenue and is a telecommunications tower and not a building at all. I think it's about 150m tall.

That's Paintbox at Regent Park 26 floors, 86m. I did a few updates on it when I lived down there.

Bleh, what a shame. Longueuil has perfect proximity and geography to be a cool off-island suburb. Imagine the skyline it could have, or the great amenities, transport hubs, and waterfront parks and promenades.

Longueuil's chance has been squandered.

Great Toronto shots. Any recommendations from those in the know for a sleek, ultra modern hotel in Toronto which would have the most amazing skyline views?

Hotel rooms in Shangri-La are too low. There isn't really anything I can think of that matches your description. Ritz might be a bit better since it is further from the core but its rooms are pretty low as well.

The Thompson Hotel might fit the bill. It's a midrise building, but it's sleek and modern, and it's got amazing views of the skyline from the very popular rooftop pool and bar:

^ Great call.

That would definitely be your best bet if you want something new with a good skyline view.
