Spending on lavish recreational facilities seems to be the city's top priority lately. The city's main streets meanwhile are clogged and its most important commercial streets have ancient, crumbling sidewalks. Quinpool Road has those plastic bins that probably came from the Zellers closing out sale.

I think it's safe to say that HRM priorities are pretty messed up. As Keith P. says, it's not even very clear why the city needs to be building and subsidizing arenas.
