I like going every year. The delicious food, the riveting performances, hot weather and even hotter ladies and the overall atmosphere...very good. The po po do a great job with traffic control in the area.
That said, I felt a sense of same old same old. Just about all of the pavilions are the same and always in the same locations each year. Menu items never seem to change. The Netherlands has the same giant music box, Scandinavia the same Viking boat, Japan the same drumming troupe, etc. While I don't believe in messing up a good formula, I don't want to see this great festival become tired and complacent.
Suggestions for improvement:
- mix around the pavilion tent locations each year; if some locations are better than others, do a lottery for location numbers
- encourage the pavilions to change some menu offerings once in a while
- serve authentic grub, don't water it down for bland Albertan tastes. Last I knew, ginger beef was created here, not in Asia. If your cuisine is spicy, don't wimp out on the heat!

- park & ride at Telus Field
- the grass in the park should be mowed before the tents go up
- How about a Ms Heritage Festival beauty pageant? I emailed this idea to them once. Jack Little seemed to like the idea but it obviously didn't get any farther.
- advertise the fact that there's lots of food ticket booths throughout the site, so there's no need for massive lineups at the 2 booths nearest the north entrances
