Went for another walk in the lovely heat today from 73rd Street to 26th Street. A lot of curb, gutter and sidewalk work going on, but not on a holiday. More paving still remains to be done. Catenary appears to be complete (don't know about inside the tunnel). Access for photos is much better than before, especially at 45th Street.

West Entrance to 69th Street Station.

Great picture update! Can't wait to come back to Calgary and take a ride on that line. Going to be some great views heading into downtown.

Looks good and I hope it is very successful. I could really see density icreasing big-time over the next 10-15 years or so in those areas!

That is being debated, either:
-North central line
-South East line
- and/or 8th avenue subway maybe?

Thanks for the pics! I'm finding the slightly different-than-the-rest-of-the-system architecture is growing on me.

I think the architecture and integration into communities has improved with time, largely due to a longer term vision and TOD mindset. My only area of disappointment is the NIMBY'ism that resulted in additional costs on a line that is already, even with inflation adjusted costs, by far the most expensive per kilometer line in Calgary.

The photo update was fantastic. Really looking forward to taking a ride on this line once open.

The official date is March 2013. I still personally would not be surprised to see early January if not closer to the original December date so they can make noise about being done ahead of schedule

Man, those ariel shots are cool! Thanks for posting the photos.

One question though, on the photo Sirocco Station Aerial, it that an LRT parking lot at the top of it? I'm used to the old Sirocco Park-N-Ride by the Sunterra but this is on the North side of 17th Ave. How do you get into it?

Nope. That's parking for the mosque on top of the hill.

I'm starting to believe again in a December WLRT opening. The only construction area lagging seems to be Westbrook. Curb and gutter work as well as paving has been going on this week around the station.

The video indicated the ridership for the LRT was around the 280,000 per weekday which would put it back at its pre recession levels.

I hope so, I have a great view of Sunalta Station from my balcony, will be cool to actually watch trains come in and out of the station.

Thanks Frink!!! What a line this is going to be. It would almost be worth living outside the core just to ride it every day.
