Thanks armorand for some CONSTRUCTION shots.

......anyone interested in construction need only drive down William at the HSC. It is one big project after another. Two tower cranes (one more coming) 4 major projects in 3 blocks.....plus a big crawler crane a couple blocks east for Living Gospel Church affordable housing.

In my opinion there's lots of potential for (I guess 'gentrified') housing in that area between RRC and the HSC. Kinda wish I had some money to take a gamble on it (if not now then very soon).

U of M construction

Just came across this page describing the renovation and extensions to Tache Hall at the U of M:

Credit: U of M
From page: http://umanitoba.ca/faculties/music/TAP.htm

The webpage also has a link to photos of Tache's interior renos.
Finally, there's a thumbnail showing how the new auditorium connects to the old building, and nothing more.

Does anyone know if there is a rooftop patio associated with the Met Addition? It kind of looks like it based on the steel work.

I would bet money that it will be getting a rooftop patio.

There is no other reason to build it like that.

Thanks. That's nice to see. Winnipeg really needs an auditorium like that, and Taché Hall should look great after the refurbishment. Are they doing something with the old auditorium that was actually in Taché itself, I wonder?

Last I heard the auditiorium in Tache will be used as a performance/practice hall for the faculty of music.

a few bits of news... mentions that the Hofer's latest project, the Station (in Transcona) is approved and there is something in the works by 5468796 on Stradbrook (8 condo units), which was rejected because there's too much traffic in the area...

A couple shots I took of the HSC complex from several weeks ago from the distance.

Shot from my classroom at Red River College a few weeks ago.

Another shot from the Salter/Slaw Rebchuk bridge, also a few weeks ago.

Just got in Peg today, just drove by the IKEA today..first time in ages...last time i drove by it, it wasn't coloured yet, and was just steel frames....

thing is massive!!! New traffic lights operational (for me they're new) and the whole area is spruced up

also tons of development further down bishop (to make way for the new semi-interchange thing) seems well underway...

Saw HSC looking crazy right now as well, tons of condo developments, CMHR coming along nicely...heritage starting soon...sturgeon bridge and by grace hospital there's some new building going up, centrepoint coming along nicely, saw the progress on CentrePort Canada way in addition to the nice welcoming crane at the airport...seeing pictures is one thing; seeing it in person is another...

and that's only the places I visited!

nice to see all this construction!
