If the province wouldn't have dropped out of the process after the feds said no, they could have secured the CP land downtown. But the deal with CP expired and now CP is just selling half the land (too small for a stadium), so it's either Evraz or the edge of the city. Unfortunate, but it is the better of the available options.
Congrats, Regina! I'm looking forward to spending a lot of time in that new facility.
I, for one, don't really mind if it's at Evraz. You really need to have a strong public transportation system (something more than buses) to make a downtown stadium work without tying up the downtown area.
It's gonna be great for Regina, the province, and the Roughriders when it's done.

Not at all sweet because we'd never host a Grey Cup again. Also... I wasn't really a huge fan of the exterior cladding. The 4 stadia that really stand out from that tournament were the ones in Kyiv, Donetsk, Warsaw, and Gdansk; although those ones are a bit too large for us.
We have to keep in mind that while we are building something with permanent seating of 33k, we need to be able to expand to about 50k.

I expect this to be tendered, although there is still talk of of P3, for design build anyway. They appear to have their financing, so they do not need a P3 for that.
Maybe you will be able to deliver the same load of concrete 10 times like was done at the Big O in the 70s.
I wonder what the pricing will be like? The units are fairly small (450-790 sq.ft.) 790 sq.ft. isn't tiny, but it isn't all that large, either. It looks like the larger units have 2 beds and 2 baths. I'd love something like that facing the park and everything you need is close by (most within easy walking distance) and it'll get better with the Canterbury, Centre Square, and Gardens on Rose developments.

well...those Scarth & 15th renderings are significantly different (better) than the original rendering that was posted on this thread (that I can't find unfortunatley).
The sizing seems to be what I think there is a demand for in the downtown core as opposed to the 1,200 sq ft condos for $500k+. I can see a 2bdrm at 790sq ft but a 2bdrm +2bath at 790sq ft would be cramped and result in two dsyfunctional baths unless it is simply a bath and a half?

I know someone who lives in Roberts Plaza and their 1 bdm/1bath suite is about 700sq ft. It is quite small. There is no way 790 will give you 2 bdm/2baths.
And yet, looking at page 4 of the PDF which BrannyMuffin linked, the preliminary plans do seem to indicate two bedrooms and two bathrooms for the larger suites.
