I've been in my client's office in the tower and it's definitely not the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons. So I think your info is perhaps out of date.

The BC College of Physicians and Surgeons do occupy most of the office floors. Below is the link to the press release.

They did purchase seven floors and since the building has nine floors of office, I'm guessing your client is probably in one of the floors not occupied by CPSBC.

Looking at the building from my window right now, I can also confirm that many of the floors on the bottom half of the building do have furnitures now and also few apartments have lights on. It's still far from being completely occupied, but definitely some progress has happened this week.

They also may be subleasing space out. I can't really imagine the college of physicians using 7 floors right off the bat.

From my office it would have been the northeast side of the tower that I'm seeing (which sadly is the ugly side).

Alright. Here is a photo of the building I took shortly after 6 am...

...and here is a close up of the floors that seem to have some furnishings, or in the process of being furnished. It includes a balcony that has some sofa chairs and a plant (the lowest unit in the pic).

Yes, and look at the suites next to them still well under construction. If people are moving in, this would be hell for them. As I said, on the south and east faces I see, at best there are two suites with furnishings in them, and the suites surrounding them are still awaiting drywall!

Wouldn't it just be leasing if they've bought it as opposed to subleasing?

Haha ya you are absolutely right.

Just seems weird to call a lease between what is essentially a tenant and another tenant a lease and not a sublease.

Those pics look great by the way guys, I'm excited to get back and see this thing in person next week. It's been too long.

See that one floor with the shades drawn? That's the only one I know of that's furnished on the south and east elevations. All the other floors are still deeply under construction.

The furnishings definitely scream "show suite".

Here ya go. This clears it up. Source: Twitter @Residences_HG

On Thursday June 21st, Delta Land Development Ltd. and Rosewood Hotel Georgia staff welcomed soon-to-be tenants of the Private Residences at Hotel Georgia for a special ownership event. Guests enjoyed cocktails at the hotel’s elegant alfresco rooftop bar and lounge Reflections, and were then invited for a sneak peek of the Private Residences 25th floor show suites.

Buyers were in high spirits and after completing the tour their eagerness to move in was evident. Not only will residents have a new place to call home, but will also all have access to a variety of perks to ensure their stay is the epitome of luxury. The adjacent Rosewood Hotel Georgia allows privileged access to utilize valet and limousine services, the hotel’s fitness centre and salt-water lap pool and get discounted rates at Sense, A Rosewood Spa®. Should buyers wish, they also have the option of a private chef, room service and housekeeping and concierge services.

Over two-thirds of the Private Residences building has already sold out, with remaining suites starting at $1.37 million (square footage ranging from 1100 to 3700 square feet). The 25th floor furnished show suites are available to view by appointment only; please telephone 1.866.602.6636 for appointments and further inquiries.

You wonder whether the event raised expectations of moving in sooner than they actually will.

Starting at $1.37 millions??? But last year during the Vancouver meet, a bunch of us actually went to the building and the bellhop specifically said the units start at $3 million....

Wow, prices are then definitely falling! I wouldn't want to be one of those who bought an apartment for double that price and are still waiting to move in!

Those prices sound pretty stable. As I understand it, the building has ALWAYS been priced around $1300/sf. Made no price adjustments during 2008, just held steady, and with up to 30% or so unsold, I don't think they're in a place to raise prices either.

Think that bellmen gave you guys some bad info.
