Oh, and as for the whole "Toronto / Winnipeg" debate, Winnipeg is clearly the greatest city in the history of cities, because I live there. It might slip to Second Best city in the world if I ever move away, but for now it is simply the best thing ever to happen to the universe. Yeah. Good call. Everyone's gonna parade their own city. But hey...I live (spend my time between) in 3 cities right now...how is this gonna work now??

Anywho onto the skylines since this thread is about that. Nice shot (as always) flar....unreal shots from the ground. Like a jungle of towers.

Damn, I made a big typo. I'll be really visiting in the beginning of August. If time permits, I might see Ottawa as well. Toronto may have to wait later but I'm going to visit Canada yearly soon.

I absolutely agree.

I think the Manitoba Legislature is the most beautiful in the country including Parliament Hill. I really like Victoria's but only during the day.......I find the lights at night unattractive borderline tacky.

Winnipeg has such a great stock of buildings for two main reasons.......a lot of wealth at the turn of the century and very slow growth post 1950. Winnipeg lost a lot of it's stature after 1950 and only in the last 10 years has it turned around. That hurt Winnipeg in many ways but one of the few benefits of it is that Winnipeg didn't lose all it's grans old buildings to freeways, parking lots, and other 1950/60/70s "urban renewal" projects.

Someone needs to do a panorama next weekend from atop Nose Hill in Calgary. Apparently there's a spot you can see all 5 areas (Stampede Park, McCall Lake, Elliston Park, Heritage Park and COP) that have fireworks simultaneously for Stampede's Light up the City.

Oh, I love the Calgary skyline. A worthy number 2 (probably), number 3 (maybe) skyline for Canada. The look of Jamison Place Tower is very unique.

I agree. There's lots of haters though in the Calgary thread and I'm not too sure why. At night it has some neat lighting features and there's a beautiful winter garden at the base. My brother in law says it looks like a battery or something (in a good way). I think I agree.
