That would be a perfect spot for a casino. I personally don't care about 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 but we've pretty much already have 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 all around us...Mississippi Coast casinos, Atmore, Florida Lottery, Dog Track. The entertainment value that it brings, increase in tourism, affordable flights, cruise ship... It would be a huge success and address a lot of issues!

Well, it has happened. Airbus looks to be on its way to Mobile and Brookley Field. BIG news for the city and the bay area... I've read we could be seeing close to 10k new direct AND indirect jobs stemming from this in the area. Clearly, the area is poised for tremendous growth.

Really is great news for both Mobile and the state. Not only with this give Mobile a much needed boost in its economy, but it will also provide a lot of notoriety. It also continues to show just how viable is as far as industrial investment goes.

Congrats Mobile! This is going to be a nice economic boost for the whole central Gulf Coast region. Hoping we'll see some parts suppliers open over here in MS and LA from this deal.

wkrg obtained a blueprint of the facility. Also states that Airbus is supposed to confirm Monday's announcement today at the close of business. Great great news for our area.

Another potential big development just occurred. The RESTORE Act passed that potentially could make BP pay billions to our coastal communities. Hopefully the committee makes it last and are smart with it.

Airbus makes official announcement

You've undoubtedly already heard about it, but here's the press release in case you have been in a hole all day today

MOBILE, Alabama -- What began as "Project Hope" became a reality on Monday as Airbus announced plans to construct a $600 million aircraft assembly plant in Mobile, giving the European company its first factory on American soil and ushering in a new era of jet production in the historic port city.

The Airbus assembly line is in the headlines of the business news over here, even in the mainstream media, tonight.

I can't even imagine how much more attention our recruiters at Farnborough Air Show are going to get as a result of this. The fact that one of the world's aerospace icons chose Alabama simply adds to the state's validity. Let's hope this is the tipping point.

agreed, i could have sworn Airbus mentioning that they were going to build commercial airplanes in the US to compete with Boeing way back when they first lost the tanker contract.
