Plus there's a groovy tunnel connecting it to the Hall Building. Shoulda built a tunnel to Guy metro too. Speaking of ugly - Guy metro station is up there with the ugliest metro stations in Montreal - as a bonus it looks like its going to collapse any moment.

^ Dear Lord.. I haven't seen a more tacked-on facade since One Bedford's use of the John Lyle studio:

Actually for over a year now, there is a tunnel connecting the library building to guy metro!

As usual Montreal has a strong showing in this thread. I wonder why? Is it because the city is so beautiful that the uglies stand out more?

P.S. I'm amazed Longoeuil hasn't reared its ugly head yet.

Hahaha! That's got to be the most blatant, disrespectful F.U. to heritage preservation I've ever seen! Wow, that trumps any preserved heritage facades from Calgary. Funny enough, we bulldoze so many heritage structures that when they are kept they tend to do a good job of it (Think Stephen Ave.).

I live pretty much in Longueuil (neighbouring city). It is most well known for the ugly area around the Metro/bus terminal, but it actually has a historic downtown to the east on St-Charles Street. Of course being a thread emphasizing the ugly, that is what I will post.

Here is the main commercial artery (Taschereau Blvd.) in Saint-Hubert and Greenfield Park boroughs of Longueuil.

Laval is just as bad as Longueuil

Start with St Martin

Somehow that motel with the barn on the front is so distinctively small town Quebec. All it needs is a St. Hubert to complete the strip. Besides Pizza Hut I don't think there's another restaurant chain with as distinctive and ugly of a roofline.

The only good thing about Laval is that their mayor is good at getting what he wants (Metro extension, A-25 Bridge, etc.)

Longueuil is pretty ugly itself, but I'd take it any day of the week over Laval. At least it is somewhat urban and has an actual downtown.
Malek's hometown is ugly? But he routinely derides Ontario/the West Island as being urban wastelands! I can see why, stacked against the architectural feast that is Laval.

I think Malek lives just under the clock:

Also, what is the horror astriding Sherbrooke Metro station? Some Godawful Hôtel de la societe de institute de regie de la gouvernement de Quebec. The only buildings uglier than government of Canada buildings in Quebec (e.g., terrasses in Hull, complex guy-favreau) are government of Quebec buildings. If only to outdo their federal counterparts.
