The first building to turn a public bathroom inside out. Pinkish toilet tiles and glass bricks. Mind you, I have urinated on the building several times in the wee hours on my way home from nights on the town (Con U was like a central junction in my earlier years)

Little known fact but in Venice, there is a new building alongside a canal known as the Edmontian.

Yeah that is pretty brutal. It even manages to overshadow most of Calgary's dead concrete plazas. I think the dead vine is what makes it all the more depressing.

Here is another bad one, UQAM's Îlot Voyageur on Berri Street.

You may ask why I am listing a building that is not finished. I am listing it because it has been on-hold since 2005. What you see in the picture is what it looked like in 2005 and still looks like today. UQAM ran out of money to complete the project!

Viger square is a failure on so many levels. What irks me even more is Heritage montreal's fight to safe keep it from the wrecking ball. I mean...come on Dinu....Dinu, no.

And stop calling it an agora.

I did get Joel to fix me up with an alarm system.

It failed, because some guy broke into my bland empty Yorkville condo and slammed my face with a snare drum, hence my snare drum face.

I think it was Ben Mulroney.

i actually find this building interesting as it looks very "1990s european" to me. there are tons of buildings from that era scattered around french cities that look like (usually just slightly less offensive) siblings to this, um, thing. down to the color pattern and, in some cases, tiles.

some examples from Lyon:

close to the part dieu train station

some random student housing complex - note the tiles on the foreground building

i find buildings in this particular style are not quite as ubiquitous in north america, so having this one specimen in downtown mtl is all right in my book.

@big T: I wouldn't want a city filled with that kind of building, but I suppose one building like that is fine.

This senior's home in St. Lambert is not too attractive. I think it was built in the late 1980s.
