Guess Sephora is a big deal. There was a pretty big lineup at the door

Champlain Place Update:

- Sephora (as noted above) is now open.
- Mica Bella Cosmetics is now open in the old Master Cuts location. How they'll ever compete with Sephora and Yves Rocher I'll never know!
- Country Lane is now open in the old Marie Claire location
- Coach is very close to opening. The exterior is complete.
- Charm Jewelers and Bell Mobility are under renovations.

There is only one vacant spot left in the mall, the old Locale store. There is now a construction barrier erected around this store front. It would appear that this is the only location available for the Jump+ store to open up in. Jump+ is a junior Apple Store.

You sure about Jump+ ? seems like they only have 2 stores in Canada, next one would be in Moncton?

I must say it would be nice to have an actual Apple Store Around byt Jump+ still looks nice

Yep we are positive they are moving east...they are opening in St. Johns, Freddy and Moncton...we just dont know where exactly in those cities as of yet. They do seem attracted to indoor malls though so we assume that will be the case.

Jump+ is targeting markets that are too small to be on Apples radar...unfortunately Halifax is on the small end for an Apple store, so we will likely never get one...but Jump+ is the next best thing!

Here is a link to their careers page for proof they are moving east:

That would make sense as they seem to be doing the same thing all across the country (closing Locale, opening Little Burgundy)

OK, you guys have convinced me.

The fact remains however that Jump+ is coming to Champlain Place and the mall is currently at 100% capacity. This means that some store is going to leave the mall.

Both Mica Bella and Country Lane may be temporary stores. Also, the rumour has come up on the thread that Fairweather might be closing.

We'll just have to wait and see what transpires.....

Fairweather is indeed closing, it was supposed to leave last February, but for some reason it is hanging on. Lease agreements & haggling with CF from start to finish can take many months (6-12-18 months). Some projects are years in the making really, a "goner" tenant may stay a couple months more because the next tenant replacing it is not secured-signed just yet.

Wild speculation, but... Jump+ moving into the Fairweather space would make for a pretty sizable "pseudo-apple store".

1. Indeed, just what I was thinking! Jump+

2. Country Lane is positively a temp store... I suspect that Mica Bella is too.

Up here in Freddy, Mica Bella and Country Lane were both temporary stores that are now closed. Fairweather up here has been having it's "Store Closing" sale for a year and a half now it seems, but it seems to be in the final final days now (considering its neighbours are moving/have moved now). I don't know where our Jump+ will be going, but we have some small and some large spots opening up that could take it, depending on how much space they want.

COACH opening Friday morning, June 29th, 2012;
The store will also have a selection for men with wallets and briefcases.
Like I previously said, the store will be a full price store and NOT a factory outlet store.

I thinks its great that Coach comes to moncton, now its gonna be the ultimate test with Saphora, Pandora and Swarovski, I'm kinda wondering if Moncton has the money to keep those stores going, however having seen the ferrari, aston martin , numerous Audi R8 etc,,, lol

I heard that Coats Co. is closing at Champlain (my source is so-so reliable on this one though...), nonetheless; jump+ could easily go there, it's spacious and in a good spot.

I've heard the same thing. One of my family member went there Monday and she said the store was half empty. She then asked the staff about it and said they were closing soon.

This is prime real estate inside the mall, lots of foot traffic in this area, visibility is great too. Jump+ would fit great there. In the coming months, years, we will see more and more new international and American brands coming in... and local, Quebec and some Canadian chains will be out; Pantorama, Fairweather, Signal and Laura are just a few that comes to mind, those places are always empty. I still don't understand the Pseudio opening, but whatever, me and the wife passed in front of it a few times since it opened and it's always empty. I also wonder how the Quebec based chain Fruits & Passion is still open at Champlain!? Bath & Body Works is always packed, I'm sure this is one of the best performing store chain-wide. Give the customers what they want, people are going to the States for brands we don't have, so the only thing and best thing to do is to bring 'em!!!

I think that Aerie by American Eagle may be looking to set up in the mall. They already have a store in the Regent mall in Fredericton.

Actually, we already have one at Champlain it is located within the AE store, it's located in the back of the store, it's a boutique within the store, sort of. Some Aerie are stand alone and are not part of the AE store, in Fredericton they don't have Aerie inside their AE, so they have a store elsewhere in Regent. Some stores are combo like the one we have in Champlain. Just my take on it, but we might get one, who knows.
