It was a pair of CF-18's that stayed at the shell Aerocentre at YEG over the weekend. A friend of mine has posted a pic on her Facebook I'll try and get to you as soon as I can.

I'm sitting in my office right now. Checking out the SSP. Not too hot. Little chili. The toilet cubicles are not big enough. If I put my coffee cup against my ear, I can hear the ocean. Oh and one more thing...WHO CARES!

Yeah, but you gotta keep in mind, when you're accustomed to perfection (YVR), it's ok to gripe about backwater podunk (d)E(a)dmonton. They're unaware about the needs of a/c.

I don't remember Edmonton weather being so muggy, in grand prairie now, not so muggy here

Yeg is pretty nice, the tower looks cool from outside on the runway side, they really could use bigger washrooms, there was a ling line up on the mens room and i only had a short time to make my connection

@sponge - yes, Tuesday and Wednesday were quite humid for Edmonton. I was at YEG Wednesday morning and it didn't seem muggy, but then again, it was early in the AM.

The transborder numbers are impressive. Has that been due to a capacity increase on existing flights or are there new flights as well (as a result of the airport expansion)?

Three well-known Edmonton businesses will open a full-service business aviation terminal Wednesday at Edmonton International Airport.

Airside Properties Inc. is a collaboration between John MacNutt of the Sawridge Group of Companies, Glenn Woolsey of York Realty Inc., and Aurora Jet Partners, a company owned by Don Wheaton, Kim Ward, Daryl Katz and Ledcor.

“Air traffic to northern Alberta, especially to the oilsands region, is increasing and traffic at Edmonton’s International Airport is increasing with it.” said Matt Woolsey, York Realty general manager.

Off topic I know but: the new BER Airport is a wee bit behind schedule. But then it is a mega project. I like the idea of Airport City being created in front of the main terminal - shops, hotels etc.

The link below also has a pdf brochure of the stunning simple architecture being used. Glass everywhere....roofs and walls. Amazing. The plans for expansion are set already and it opens at low end of its capacity of up to 5M with expansion terminals (30M now travel between 3 airports). General Aviation on site for business as well as Government. Only 2 runways. I can not wait to fly into BER. Or is it Willy Brant or is it Berlin Brandenburg Airport? Actually all 3 but travellers will know it only by the IATA call letters: BER
