I live near this development. Kind of disappointed by how bland and generic they decided to go with the architecture on this one, they really could have done better than that. Not to say it looks bad, it's just a little too cookie cutter for that spot, the neighbourhood could have used something with a little more imagination.

This isn't under excavation. 3R Demo (who's machine that is) did the demolition several months ago of the old repair shop. The site has been sitting with no activity since Janruary.

Walked past that a week ago, and saw what looked like enviro testing holes in several places on the site.

yes, I understand some contamination issues as this used to be a service station and who knows what else.

Two shots from Mosaic's Iron & White on West 10th from last week (April 19th). All done and occupied, and in my opinion it looks great.

Should be of interest to some people. The empty lot across from city hall is seeking rezoning. wonder if Imperial has had a change of mind and is starting to offload their old stations.

would be fantastic to get the lot built out, but this is probably the ugliest vancouver proposal i've seen since the robson street hilton. value-engineered bullshit like this right across from city hall? is that some sort of sick self-destructive dare? if i were, say, raymond louie, i'd discreetly make it clear that they'd need to up their design to something 'digne du nom' as we say in french. maybe this is just preliminary.

Iron and Whyte could have avoided ouvert faux-historicism if they hadn't gone for the tacky cornice.
