Its a good start but will need to be tweaked for early morning flights

Flew out of the new International Wing to the US this past week. Sweeeeet

, takes YEG to a whole other level ( moving walkways, more of a larger city feel to it ). Also new hangers including STARS starting to and already constructed on the north side of the south runway.

Also sounds like the Morningstar hanger/fbo is about 70% complete on the northside of the field near 02/20. It's located adjacent to the FedEx cargo facility from the plans I've looked at. Sounds like it will brand as a Esso Avitat and not a millionair fbo as many have speculated...

Oooooohhhh, so it's Morningstar moving in there... Pretty big hangar. Looks like pretty sweet digs. Over and above the STARS hangar by 12/30, there's 2 more hangars being constructed. What's going in those?

I have passed by both ends of the airport and had a good look at the new hangars. The Stars hangar looks ready to live in. The Morningstar was done structurally when I last saw it.

As to who's moving in. There are a number of moves from CCA coming I'm thinking

STARS hopes to be in there later this year is what I was told yesterday.

The Morningstar fbo will obviously be home to some of the corporate fleet such as Max Wards CL-605, and the company Embraer phenoms, and Hawkers aswell as a global express that's awaiting delivery for a certain Edmonton business mogul. I would imagine a number of others from the cca. In addition the fbo will service a number of other clients who select to use the facility.

The watering is automatic and only comes on for a few minutes per day. There is a drip irrigation system within the living walls that percolates down through the layers of recycled fibers.

Another strong month for YEG, makes you wonder how close they are to capacity on flights...meaning how many open seats are left?

On another note, it would be nice to know if YEG has done a Market Analysis to see how much of their growth is purely organic. A large portion of the growth is due to the economy picking up alone that would be organic. Organic growth is growth we are going to get just be default because airlines HAVE to add seats to keep up with demand. Example, YEG-IAH is oversold 80% time and causing issues for United Airlines, a 2nd daily is needed to meet customer demands...so airline adds flight. Non organic would be an airline taking a bit of a risk and adding something new and uncharted that should do well, but the ERAA had to work extra hard to get those flights. An example of this in 2012 would be Canadian North investing so much at YEG with a corporate hangar and charter flights.

But airline actions continue to defy what appears to be indicative of strong performance. Something is missing from these clearly strong numbers.

Delta is reducing MSP to only 19 weekly this summer. The middle flight has dropped to 5 days a week.

I agree, something doesn't add up. Service, by and large, is barely any better than it was last year to the U.S.

Things probably will flatten out for the summer months but I still think 6.5 million will be easily surpassed. Again, that's not including corporate aviation numbers which added up to about 500000 pax. YEG will finally shoot past 7 million.

I remember reading a UAL document not to long ago that put YEG in their top 10 for Yields on the DEN market. Not sure about the rest, but I assume with the fares we are paying and how full the flights are it is not a Yield issue.

I think it's probably the old boy mentality of YEG...whos that? and Lack of aggressive account management/sales by ERAA.

Yet UA is reducing DEN further. Goes against all the stats about what a high yielding route it is right? Believe me the "where is that" wouldn't matter if it is a high yielding route. Airline marketers would see the numbers not the place name first. So it continues to be a mystery!
