Yes, those are valid concerns. Lets hope for the direct approach, with an interchange at Pasqua & Ring Road. (I was thinking Argyle, but wrote McIntosh. )

Some say it can't be done... others say it can. I'm sure if money was no object, a solution could be found.

On and offramps from the hwy 6 /11 south to rochdale would be feasible, however access from the otherside not likely in the foreseeable future. But I am happy about the Argyle extension. I would also think that lights would be needed at the intersections at the top of Argyle / Ring Road overpass To accommodate the increased traffic flow.

Oh would that ever be nice. It would be interesting to see how this could be designed. I'm not opposed to another intersection here at all. It might even calm some of the traffic in this area...

I made 2 new observations on my drive home last night.

Firstly, Phase II of Conterbury Common is under construction. I noticed a big excavation west of Phase I on Broad. The main floor commercial is for lease a the link below. They say fall 2012 possession which is silly.

Secondly the empty lot on Wascana Parkway now has contrcution fencing and excavation equipment on it. I believe there were posts last year about a luxury condo going on this site.

I noticed the work on that Wascana Parkway lot last week. I was actually going to ask here if anyone had any idea what it was going to look like. They're also doing work on the building next door. I searched the forum for the post about the building and the only thing it said was that it is a $10 million condo.

As for Canterbury Common...if there is no listing for Phase I should I take that to mean that it is already leased? I know there were rumours about what was going in there but I haven't heard anything in months (probably because they're moving so slow...I'd be surprised if Phase I was done by fall, never mind Phase II!). Anyone heard anything lately?

New stadium update at the end of the month. I only posted the interesting stuff, but apparently it will be a complete update.

Fiacco decided to hold back on the information to wait for one larger announcement instead of releasing it in bits and pieces. Without the whole picture he says any small updates would only raise more questions.

Sorry for all the posts but I keep finding things to discuss and they don't fit together! Haha...

I'm curious as to what he has to say....I wonder what his job with RROC is?

Edit: Nevermind. I guess I could have just looked....Apparently he is Vice President and Director of Economic Development. Should be interesting!

Sorry, DowntownRiderFan beat me to it. I'm leaving my original post though, because there may be some who want to watch it on the newscast as well.

-------------------------------------------------

I also heard an announcement on the CTV noon news today, about another residence building at the U of R. I'm assuming it would be similar to the other towers. Sorry I couldn't find anything to link to, other than the newscast, if you have a few minutes. It's about half way through.

ummmmmmmmmm okay.

I wish that you would read news releases before flying off the handle. You already have a reputation as kind of a homer on this site, don't make it worse.

They are providing 1 million for the U of R to do the initial planning of the building. They will be providing a lot more once they decide what they want to do. I know there is a big discrepancy between funding at the U of S and the U of R but please read articles before "shaming" people.

They don't commit the full cost because there's no point now. By the time plans are drawn up (which is what the million is for) it'll be another budget year before construction can actually start.

And that's as polite as I can be in response to a post like yours.
