The d'Youville Tower, in the middle of the following picture, will be renovated for $230M. Some work will be done on the concrete exterior but unfortunately, I do not believe that the concrete outside appearance will change much, the bulk of the money being funneled to interior design upgrades. However, a new roof will be added and the said roof seems allright.

Here is the said roof, which will probably be metting rooms.

They should leave the exterior of that Quebec City office building alone; clean it but don't change a thing. It's an elegant 70s design and one of the few modern towers in Quebec City that looks good. That new roof ruins the integrity of the architecture.

Phase 3 of the Samuel de Champlain Promenade has been unveiled today. The first phase was delivered in 2008, just in time for the 400th anniversary of the city. The goal of this project is to make the St-Lawrence river an integral part of the city once more because for the last 40 years, the riverbank was more or less abandoned by the population. The first phase was a huge success: it constantly attracts a lot of people during the summer and it has won multiple landscape architecture awards both nationally and internationally. I've posted this pic before but here it is anyway: a part of the first phase stretching all the way to the bridges.

The third phase will continue the promenade on a 2.5km stretch. Here is a video of the project (in french), which will require investment in the $75M range. You can skip the first 50s if you want to.

I like the use of stone on the 2nd and 3rd floor.

Construction of this lowrise (condos) just started.

I like that one for Edmonton and i really like the one for Ossington Avenue, Toronto. There have been some pretty good new proposals lately.

This is a very prominent/respected firm doing this, so I'd imagine that it will proceed. Will be interesting to see how quickly!!

However, proposals and shovels in the ground, are two different things. Check back in a couple years. Making progress though, you are correct.
