As dramatic as the photo suggest the museum will be, I think a few of us here a waiting on news about the lot across the cmhr. It would be a shame/eyesore to not develops that gravel lot sooner. I saw design concepts with the old forks north portage websites from previous years. Some mix retail, residential low rise and parade adjacent to the rail. Would be good. The sooner the better.

^ me too...it went on hold for a while....it is on the Forks to do list....hopefully later this year...to me, that site is the most important one in the city to get it right.....it has so much potential.

i'm sure i'm not the only person that saw this today.. huge crane assembled at the site.. probably as high as 201 portage.. guess it means they're finally starting the glass on the tower. don't got a pic sorry.

I would like to see the stretch of South Main that runs parallel to the Forks become part of the Forks' overall planning process. The surface lots around Earl's, the dingy 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 of bldgs at Main and St. Mary's, should be seeing some development interest considering how close they are to the Forks -- but they're not.

Great find! Didn't i read in the Freep a couple months back that the city was considering selling one of its lots near Earl's - but transit wanted it to keep the lot for potential future use as a rapid transit corridor?

Couldn't Winnipeg Transit just build an elevated guideway, or have a hole through the future tower on the site like the Docklands LRT in London, UK?
