Great news!!

South Tower: 1,017', 54 floors
North Tower: 1292', 65 floors

Both towers had a height increase! I'm so happy about the smaller tower breaking the 1,000' mark.

On a side note: The South Tower is now exactly as tall as The Shard!
Man, I'm so excited- 2012 is going to be a great year.

All we need now is for Tower Verre to finally start construction...

They were both supertalls to begin with but hey, more height, and good looking buildings, who can complain?

The coach tower will start soon, the higher tower will start later this year or next right? Or am I mistaken?

Taller one needs a tenant, but the platform needed for it should start this year.

Off topic but shouldn't those renderings have shown the entire new World Trade Center complex in the background, and not just One World Trade Center? Also it would be a better idea to rename the complex now. No need to call it the Hudson Yards now that the towers are rising. Also since they are going to rise at about the same time their construction images won't be much different from the construction images of these buildings.

I am certain that a very similar image will be produced once both towers start construction at the Hudson Yards.

They're just showing what's rising now. Still uncertainty about when those other towers will be completed, as well as the Manhattan West complex, which is basically next door, but not shown in the renderings. Hudson Yards is not the name of the actual railyards, but the complex has taken on that name, which itself was borrowed from the entire Hudson Yards redevelopment plan put in place by the City.

Here's a truck filled with dirt leaving the yards. That explains why the fence was completely open for the past week

Thanks for the update Ara, and for posting those renders NYGuy. The more renders I see of this project, the more I love it. Being able to see this entire neighborhood come together over the next decade will be amazing.

Unbelievable. This project is to let people with the open mouth... Now even better, two towers in a side by side over 300 meters. New York needs of a project as good as this, is perfect! New city within a city!

I hate to be nitpicky, because all of this is mindbogglingly wonderful news

(love that skyline rendering to death!) ...but it appears on the site map that they replaced that sick-looking fountain along 11th Avenue with a "retail pavilion" ..I sort of hope that's not the case because I was SOOO excited to see that fountain up and in action.
