I've paid $8 for tickets in Tampa at their ticket window. Nosebleeds, but still. 8 freaking bucks. And been offered free lower bowl tickets in Phoenix, just for staying in a nearby hotel. They were shocked that we had already purchased tickets online, because "everyone knows you can get them for free".

We went to the Jets @ Coyotes game in October, and bought through a ticket broker. They were some of if not the most expensive tickets (well over $100) but we got them for about $60 each.

LA is the only place in the south that I've ever paid anywhere close to what I'd consider a full price. Even Anaheim is cheap as borscht.

Apparently Dallas has the cheapest average ticket price this season. Still empty, though.

I would suggest that the cheap price of tickets in the states provides an indirect commentary on the state of the game in the US. The demand to see a game in the US market just isn't the same as it is here. It actually BLOWS my mind what theya re willing to give away with tickets in the states. I have been to 4 arenas in the states where you can have all you can eat food and bevies included in the price of your tickets.

I think that the tickets in LA are falsely inflated. I have been to a couple of games in LA, it strikes me that hockey is just one of those things to go to...both times I have been at games where the people around me have been more concerned with their cell phones and taking pictures of themselves than the game itself. I know that there are REAL hockey fans there but still.

Anyone know how far up the second level row 21 is? My Wife got given tickets for tonights game, wondering if they'll be decent or not

San Jose had ticket prices that were fairly normal, no where near as expensive as here, but pretty pricey for the southern US.

A few rows from the back. They will be decent tickets, close enough to read the names on the back of the jerseys, but barely.

No, nose bleeds is the third level.

Pretty much anything in the 200's is a good seat. At least that's my opinion after having to slog up the stairs to the Sportchek zone for every game I've been to in the last few years.

ah! that's it, I'm mixing the two up, the seating map on the flames webiste shows the 3 level as this tiny strip when its actaully a fair bit larger

The writing was on the wall back in November that they wouldn't make the playoffs. Will be interesting to see what Feaster does over the off season...

They have to win 7 of their next 9 games OR all 5 against DAL/COL/LAK (have to be regulation wins).

If Colorado or Dallas wins both games, it's golf season.

They were sitting in the driver's seat, but leaving 3 points on the table against Edmonton and Columbus has put them behind.

Shame on Kipper for letting a goal in last night. He should know by now if he doesn't stop them all, the Flames are likely to lose.

Also an indirect commentary on the economy....

You could look at two different ways.

On one hand they are giving away alot of seats and extras to get people into the building. It speaks to the state of hockey in the US

On the other hand, you look at the playoffs and the buildings are full and they're loud....even in terrible economic times. It speaks to the fact there are fans there.

I don't think they need to blow the team up, but changes are needed....I think everyone can agree. I watch some of these teams like Phoenix, Ottawa, Nashville, etc.. not much further ahead in the standings, and I can't imagine Calgary competing with teams like this in a playoff round. Calgary simply isn't good enough, and Kipper has been the only reason we've been in the mix.

If I were GM, I would let go of some older guys and make room for some younger players to get more experience. I would also likely trade Kipper.....yes trade Kipper. He's the only guy keeping us in games on most nights, but they need to forget about that and see what Irving and Carlson can do.

Sure, they would drop in the standings, but by the time they get some of these younger guys going and are a legit contender, Kipper will be too old. Right now Kipper would get you the most in return.
