In 2004 as part of my environmental design degree, we had to find a new use for the for the Jubilee / Pembina Hwy overpass area. I created this mass infill project.

I turned the overpass into more of a local road that went to a urban shopping / transit / condo hub. The professor said: Winnipeg would never approve that kind of density...lol.

funny guy....thats my old car....old proposal....just the rendering guy on that one.

sat down today, had a big bowl of ärtsoppa, channeled my inner swede and spent the afternoon laying out a random pattern of windows for a nearby building....see if you can find it coming soon in an announcement near you.

Owned - I believe there has been an upgrade not too long ago.

he did at one point then a s2000 and then i think he upgraded to a solstice not to long ago?

Something interesting about that lot is that if a building were high enough, it'd tower over the Fairmont and fill in the "hole" in this view:

Having said that, the exchange has an 8 storey maximum building height and would probably count for that lot. Also, I'd rather see a bunch of smaller buildings filling in the parking lots than just one.

On that note, a friend who is buying into Sky 2 has heard that construction could begin next month. Who knows how true that is, but they do seem to be around 60% sold.

i desperately want that site to be developed, but i dont think it is right for a highrise...a nice 6 storey condo would be just fine....maybe that stockholm building.

the annoying thing about that site is that when they built waterfront drive, centre venture awarded the tiny parcel of land on waterfront to a developer who didnt own the huge piece of property behind, even though the owner of that land, who is a reputable developer, submitted a good proposal as well....now the site is completely cut off from the river and its development potential exponentially lowered...all for a handful of units in that small condo.......the owner was prepared to do a whole project that stepped back from the river....terrible decision by centre venture....no big picture thinking.

highrises would be more appropriate on the sea of parking west of the raised track.

saw something funny today....i was driving past the site of the element condos on sherbrooke....they are demolishing all the existing buildings....as i passed i noticed the big back hoe that was ripping apart the building that was serving as the sales centre lying completely on its side in a pile of rubble....5 guys standing on the sidewalk rubbing their faces and scratching their heads....i have no idea why i didnt stop to take a photo.

I don't want to speak for Viking here, but I'm sorry 1ajs on no planet is a Pontiac Solstice and upgrade from a Honda s2000.......He now drives a German car.
