Everyday I walk under the Bay's hideous metal awning and pray that it will soon be removed. It is such a blight to that beautiful building and downtown in general. They should have used their Olympic windfall on its replacement.

I agree, it's horrible. I hope they get rid of it someday soon. How about... um... vinyl awnings!

You are right, it is out of place. But the topic always seems to come up in nearly every thread. There should be a "Vancouver: world class or not?" thread for those who obsess about our global status.

Agreed. It certainly derails other threads often enough to warrant its own thread.

I took the liberty of starting a thread in the General Discussion section of the forum. Is Vancouver World-Class?

I've noticed that a bus stop has been set up in front of 701 West Georgia (don't know which buses, but I figure The Bay sidewalk was too crowded so they split them up).
No awning there and the passengers line up as they do at The Bay just fine.

Well, I love a woman's figure just as much as the next hetero male, but there's a time and place for such things, same with workout wear and the like. I'd much rather see an attractive woman who has loads of style and dressed to the nines than some chick in yoga pants.
Anyway, sorry for the off topic-ness.

They do in Montreal, too. Infinitely more than in Vancouver, and even more than Toronto.
