Which of the buildings along there are you referring to? Was there one that once occupied the space under the Shangri-La? I'm really curious to know.

1133 W. Georgia is the Vancouver's Turn space. Google Maps points pretty much right at it, and Google Search would have linked you to SSP's own page on it (not to mention Wikipedia).

You won't be able to see both buildings at the same time though due to the curve Cordova makes at Howe St. but I agree the canyon is already pretty great and these buildings will add to it.

The only part of the University Club building that will remain is the front facade. You can see where the windows are braced in the first picture you posted.

Yeah. I hope it turns out exactly like the renders. this is one of my favorite projects. can't wait to see it in person. it's gonna be a great tower. the height isn't so bad, but I personally wished it was a few more floors higher. nonetheless, it's a great addition to the skyline of the city.

I am actually very content with the hight, it will actually be our tallest office tower!

The proportions are perfect on this tower, i actually feel a few more floors on this one would actually make it look "flimsy."

That is not correct, which is sad, since it would not be very difficult to be the tallest office tower in this city. But it is even more sad because such a beautiful design deserves to be the tallest, to soar above the herd, not be buried among a crowd of towers of the same height. A beautiful building like this should pierce the table-top skyline, not be guilty of reinforcing it even further.

But most importantly, the proportions are not correct. It is too short on its own terms and needs about 80 more feet to realize its optimum elegance and dignity.

Tallest office tower currently is Royal Centre at 144.8 meters, so if this one is a straight 145, that is 20cm taller!

So that is true, I by office tower i mean full office tower, no residential mix.

And that is your opinion, not fact, 80 more feet would make it look awkward IMO.
