That view you took of Regina's skyline really shows off all the buildings really well.

Here's one of Winnipeg that shows off the whole downtown area which is pretty massive for Winnipeg's population if you think about it.

Here's one zoomed in a bit of part of downtown.

Yeah I have said it before and I will say it again, I love Winnipeg's skyline, I always have. I don't know why... there is nothing all that remarkable about it.... perhaps it is the potential the city has? mixed with its significance in Canadian history and culture? I dunno. I dunno. I hope they manage to develope beautiful highrises throughout the city while still maintaining the stunning mid-rise heritage structures they have, or at least the facades...

Winnipeg has a great mix of old and new, and when something new is built there, they usually go top quality (see Manitoba Hydro building). Hopefully a coupe really tall new buildings will be built there in the near future, that should help eliminate some of the negative perceptions people have of the 'Peg.

I am happy with the Skyline Changing buildings all being proposed within the next couple of years, All right downtown:

1. CMHR

2. Canad Inns Hotel at HSC

source: http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/6006/1048039.jpg

3. Heritage Landing

source: http://www.crystalconstruction.ca/ht...serialNumber=3

4. Bond Tower

5. Alt Hotel

source: http://chrisd.ca/blog/wp-content/upl...age-avenue.jpg

6. 226 Osbourne

source: http://www.inlett.com/properties/location/winnipeg-osborne.html

Remember these are new downtown skyline changing proposals. There are many other highrises being built throughout the city. Also there are many reno's and conversions being done at the moment, as well as some anticipated highrises coming within the next few months. Anyone in Winnipeg know if I missed something?

Here is one from Brizzy82 on the Man/Sask page.

Don't mind the quality. It was taken from a cell phone and turned out really well in spite of that.

HSC Canadinns isn't downtown, but the projects going up in the Peg are still impressive nonetheless. I really like the university residence they just built that bridges over part of the university, very cool.

My favorites are ALT and CMHR... probably soon to be replaced by the new convention centre hotel tower yet to be revealed.

I didn't know about that new Osborne proposal though! Cool

I posted it because even though it technically is not downtown it is close enough where it will affect the skyline when finished, especially from the North or West. As much of Osbourne Village actually creates the largest mass of buildings in any downtown shot, whilst technically not being downtown.

Nice pic Witty!

Another of the Peg, stopped over last Apr on way to Orlando. Winnipeg looks very compact and dense, much different than Calgary from the air, especially the grids of streets going in different directions.

This one is kinda blurry, digital zoom.. heh.

Orlando skyline..not much of one, but man do I love Florida. Not Canada, sorry. But there are lots of us there any any given time..
