Very nice pano. Like this angle, you get to see most of the significant buildings in the skyline.

Not a very flattering angle on the Toronto skyline.

Yonge and Dundas needs a couple very tall towers to balance out this view.

I hope the redevelopment plans for the Atrium include a supertall tower, in addition to more animated 20 level streetfront with LED and super-retail.

I think it is a gorgeous view with a lot of variation. I would hate to see your idea of the perfect skyline. Not even Coruscant would be able to live up to your expectations.

I have to agree that the view from the North is probably my least favourite. You get the least flattering angle of Scotia plaza, and Trump is too prominent for my liking.

The Atrium is not going to be knocked down. A 2 to 5 floor addition on the shortest block is being considered.

I didn't say the Atrium should be knocked down. If it got knocked down where would all the homeless and poor people hang out?

There are many places at Yonge and Dundas that can handle a supertall.

The downtown core covers quite a bit of territory. We still have quite a way to go before it starts filling out. Perhaps it will start gelling in 5-10 years. It would look infinitely better with another 20-30 150-350m+ buildings in there.

Hamilton is really becoming one of my favourite city in Ontario. I recently did alot of Street view in the City and I really love the hill and the nice view you can get from there. Its a very attractive thing for a city. The red hill valley Parkway looks like to be a very nice improvement aswell. Unfortunately , you can't go thru this with Street view... I just wonder if u can see downtown going down the hill from this road.

Hamilton is a great city. It's so underrated because it sits in Toronto's shadow. Of all of the cities in Ontario that I have lived in, Hamilton is far and away my favourite.

You can't see Hamilton from the Red Hill, but on a clear day you can see a silhouette of Toronto's skyline across the lake:

I have some photos of the Red Hill on my website:

^ Hamilton is a big and diverse city. It has all the amenities of a big city, but costs far less to live in. You can be in Downtown Toronto via transit in under an hour. You don't need a car to be comfortable in Hamilton. (Mind you, nor do you in Toronto, though I still own one). Best of all, Hamilton lacks Toronto's pretentiousness.

The speed limit on both of Hamilton's Parkway's is 90km/h.

Agreed, the Hammer is a great and underrated city. Everyone I've met were really friendly and down-to-earth. A lot of my friends from university are from here too. I've always enjoyed every time I visit, especially Hess!

Thanks again sonysnob for these very interresting informations.
(You guys are about to convince me to make a road trip there one day until I realize it's 860km away and 10hrs of drive ! )

Greetings from Quebec city,

Franks.

I posted these in the under 500,000 city thread, but thought I may as well put them in the regular skyiline thread, although they are sort of streetscape photos:
