I have been busy and not able to follow the forum until today.
It's important that people realize how damaging irresponsible speculations are to reputations of those involved in the design and construction process and to our efforts to sell the condos..
The reason some buyers were in hotels is because they relied on our overly optimistic projections of how long it would take us to go through the temporary occupancy permit approval process to time their move into their condo.
We assumed the approval process would take the same amount of time as it took in our other projects. We then found out that this is the first high rise residential building [as the term is defined in the National Building Code] built in New Brunswick in more than 15 years!!
This meant the authorities were more catious and more deliberate in their decision making porocess. The end result was that it took two months mre than we anticipated to get the temporary occupancy permit.
The entire focus of the review process was on making sure that all the sophisticated life support systems were built per Code and tested and found to be in good working order. There was not A SINGLE issue/concerns raised by anyone about the structural integrity of the building. The reason for this is simple. There never were nor are there nw any structural issue with the building.
Ten buyers have already moved in and more will be moving in soon.
And the building will be a proud member of the City's landscape long after you and I and your great grandchildren are gone.
