There were rumours of a BP in the parking lot and a Giant Tiger in the strip.

But nothing official as of yet.

Boston Pizza and a Safeway Gas bar for sure (they will be tearing down the Domo)......well i guess nothing is 100% until it is under construction so 99% sure.

I could live with a BP.

Construction has begun on whatever they are building right beside Safeway (south side). Looks like maybe enough for two maybe three small-ish tenants, tough to tell right now.

Probably have to wait for the Domo lease to expire first, but it'll be nice to have a real gas station there.

The only vacancies filled in the last little while has been a nail shop across from Rogers and a book store taking over the former hangers location (I think the book store is a temporary thing for the holidays as it wasn't opened today and it was pretty sparce).

There are still a dozen or so empty locations with lease signs in them in the mall. Don't think the website is displaying everything that's available. If they ever get the Mcnally site filled the complete lower level will be leased though.

I think you might be thinking of CityPlace? There's talk of a sports bar or something taking over part of the second level there.

Within the past little while a new nail shop opened on the east wing of Portage Place filling up one of the many second level vacancies.

Unfortunately it looks like a new vacancy is opening up on the second level. On the west side seond level of the mall, Mach Art Works has signage up indicating they are closing. The signs say the owner is retiring. The shop has been there for as long as I can remember, it sells various decorative collectable things.

I heard a rumor [thats all] that MPI isn't renewing leases on the 2nd floor,of City Place.
as they want to open a casino. I remember talk of it when MTS was in the planning stages. Now that the Jets are back, I wonder if there trying to get approval for this again?
