or the help with the rebuild from the famous Hollywood actor Bela Lugosi, who happened to be in Regina at the time performing for a theatre, said Veresuk....
It wasn't Bela Lugosi, it was Boris Karloff.

The art project will be interesting. I don't know much about the cost of art but I don't think $250k will go very far - I hope they do more fundraising.

A guy that attends my church is doing the concrete on hill tower III and has told me that after Hill Tower III they're doing a 28 storey tower next.

if this info turns up good, would it be the FCC 2 or the Hill IV or is Ledcor doing CP? (maybe he misheard 26 stories)

From what we've been hearing, the construction crew is supposed to be moving on to FCC II after they are done Hill III. Hill IV I think is still a ways away (the demolition of the current buildings there hasn't even been approved yet, and I think I remember reading PCL is doing CP, although I could be wrong there.

Sounds exciting though... FCC II would be the perfect spot for a new peak in the skyline I think; sort of in the middle of the current cluster.

PCL will be doing Capital Pointe. A 28-storey office building --- plus any would-be peaks/extensions would be extremely iconic for our CBD --- that's for sure!!!

I'd be pretty excited about 28 stories. We'll see. There's been a bit of history on office towers coming out a little shorter though. A 28 story office tower would probably put us past a 100m and probably in the 110m range. That would be very exciting for Regina and Saskatchewan as a whole.

One thing I have learned is that construction workers are great souces of information and I always ask them what they are up to, but you can't always rely on them as they often just have bits and pieces of information.

If you want to know when FCC II is starting, go talk to the the people at the Green Spot or Hall & Rae and ask them when they have to be out their building. It is to be demolished.

PCL is the contractor for CP.

Ahead of the 2012 National Infrastructure Summit, the City of Regina & Regina
Regional Opportunities Commission are seeking radical new approaches to
sustainable urban planning.

http://www.morphmycitychallenge.com/

Morph My City Challenge (MMCC) is a two-part innovation competition aiming to encourage and reward radical new approaches to sustainable urban planning. Architects, engineers, students, city planners and innovators from around the world are invited to enter this Challenge.

I don't know if this applies to any of you, but it's an interesting idea...

Looks like 'One Tooth' is leaving downtown Regina for the "vibrant" Rochdale area.

Not sure the word vibrant accurately reflects this part of the city nor any suburban form of commercial....

Maybe lululemon is looking into having a permanent presence and one tooth doesn't want to directly compete.

I have heard this is the case, Lulu knew they would do well, they didn't think they would do as well as they did and it won't be long until there is a permanent location.

Question for people though. How much more lively would that corner of downtown have been if instead of opening shop in the mall, Second cup opened across from Havik and in the summer used a portion of the entrance of the cornwall as a patio?
