"I think I do" is the title. Given how they stuck their filming noticed with scotch tape on the wall of our building I'm guessing its some local flick.

Residents get their say on 99th Street
Improvements slated to make road safer for pedestrians

Gordon Kent
Edmonton Journal

Thursday, January 05, 2012

One of Edmonton's busiest routes downtown should become more attractive and pedestrian-friendly by next summer thanks to a determined group of Old Strathcona residents. They've been working for months to improve 99th Street north of 81st Avenue following reconstruction they feel focused too much on the needs of commuters and not enough on local residents.

"They were considering it an arterial road passing through a community, and they built it to that standard," says Murray Cann, co-chair of the 99th Street Task Force...

Real estate market healthy, agents say

Lewis Kelly
Edmonton Journal

Thursday, January 05, 2012

Edmonton wrapped up a stable year in real estate in December, the Realtors Association of Edmonton said Wednesday.

"It is a relief to report on the stability and health of the local real estate market," said Chris Mooney, association president for 2011. "With prices and sales varying within a small range, there is a solid base going forward into the 2012 market."

Mooney mentioned the European debt crisis and a depressed housing market in the U.S. as major concerns, but emphasized that the energy-based economy of Alberta in general and Edmonton in particular keeps the local housing market buoyant...

^They are opening in the Devonian.

I'd like to see Milestone's open in the core for variety sake.

Aside from that 2-3 more pubs with food you can actually eat.

I'm guessing Cora for the "breakfast franchise?" I seem to recall them being interested in downtown at one point. Thanks for the info.

Pubs on 104 is great news.. I'd love to see more small restaus like Lit or small lounges like the Hat they have a different and interesting atmosphere than the norm. I am also curious if anyone has taken interest in capital boulivard. A stretch of restaus and pubs on such a street would be amazing.

I'd bet you see that (or something like it) open as a resto/bar attachment to a new hotel...

.. fairly soon
