Great!!! It's about time somebody even suggested to "correct" the queue de cheval mistake. Why would anyone build a 2 storey building on R-L anyways?

New project on a parking lot. I'm trying to figure out if this is a brand new building or they will be renovating the building currently there.:

Condos Le Parc - 10 floors
7930 Boul. Viau, Saint-Leonard (Streetview)

I think it is a new building. Look at the right of the picture, it looks like the existing building. The new one will be perpendicular to the existing building.

I happened to see Evolo from the Victoria Bridge today and it is getting quite big.

I drove downtown via Wellington and Peel and it is incredible how much development is going on in the area. There are a ton of cranes.

Imagine what comes to mind when you mention Indiana. Or Kansas. Or Missouri.

for most, I imagine butt fuck all comes to mind. At least people have some thoughts of la belle ville.

Ask any American what they think of Indiana and they'll tell you all about that Indy 500 race. Missouri or Kansas? I'm sure they'll be able to mention some sort of pro or semi pro or amateur or bowling league sports franchise before they can even think of something about the big old M.

RenderPornStar of the Year - Lowrise

My favourite project of 2011 is affordable, stylish and on the outskirts of Montreal--I could never imagine Oshawa Ontario building something this attractive, much less Toronto proper at this price point. RenderPornStar-of-the-Year lowrise is Faubourg Contrecoeur phase 3!

Qne thing I'm finding increasingly annoying about this site is the amount of western hillbillies going on about hick cities like Calgary as if it's a world class metropolis, oh fucking wow they have a few tall skyscrapers... for those billy-bobs I give you this show, watch it and then shut the fuck up

I find that a few of the Montreal forumers (especially Habfanman) on this website have a major chip on their shoulder. A lot of them have a hate on for Calgary (in Habfanman's case it is his hometown of Toronto) in particular (kind of a "How on earth can that redneck town be world class at anything"? Montreal is the only world class city in the country"...) I realize gloating Albertans can be annoying, but it is not like westerners have a monopoly on douchebaggery. Mtlurb is filled with our city's answer to the "hillbillies" as you call them.

Aside from demonstrating that we have some decent food, that video also proves that we are being overrun by hipsters.

Hipsters? Fine by me! At least with them, you can smoke a joint, grab a pint, talk about quality shit (like urban planning, for example) and hang out at cool places without feeling like you're talking to some trailer park manager.

I'm from Alberta, and whenever I go for my annual trip back home, I always have to find myself defending Quebec, some people there don't seem to understand that I choose to live here

It is true that a lot of them are certainly interesting (my brother is kind of a hipster, and knows of a lot of their hideouts).

I don't have anything against them, I just think it has been overdone... There are simply too many of them now. They were cool like two years ago, but now every other young person here is one. (Toronto is the same way)

That said, I live on the south shore, and I am even more sick of some of the tacky "450 types" than I am of the hipsters. At least most of the hipsters don't have the repugnant personalities of some of these nouveau riches (and nouveau riche wannabes)...

My family is from out east and I get the same thing to an extent there. However, I think I have converted a few of them to loving Montreal by giving them a good tour of the city. That's the best way to convince them. Now a few of them dream of living here.

I've never been to Calgary, but I am sure it has some redeeming qualities. I don't believe in bashing a place until I have visited.

Nope! No news yet, no word on sales or any other update! Word 'round the rumour mill is that the empty lot across the street (where that queue de cheval resto is) is gonna be subject of a large tower development.
