Any action down there today?

Last week it was said demolition of the main portion of the building would continue Monday (today). Or are they waiting until tonight, as they mentioned working at night to avoid traffic and pedestrian endangerment?

They were finishing up knocking down the wings as I walked by around 515 or so. So it looks like they are on schedule.

I drove by the Plains Hotel/Capital Pointe site just around 9:45 pm tonight! Victoria Ave. westbound and Albert St. northbound are narrowed to each 1 leftmost driving lane, with the other lanes fenced off. They're still working at the back of the main wing, closer to Victoria Ave. side, raising tons of airborne dust! I wonder how late they will go on until? I doubt if I'll be able to drive by again tonight.

At the rate they're going, I'll bet that the Plains will be gone by Thursday night!!!

There was a significant portion down this morning. the parking/bus lane was blocked off this morning on Albert Street. I'd wager the Thursday comment might be pretty close.

Drove by tonight around 10:30, they had all northbound lanes closed and while the trackhoe was still working the back of the building they had taken some of the Albert street facing parts of the building down. If they go all night, there is not going to be much more than pile of rubble pretty soon.

Just wondering when it's all said and done, will this be the tallest building in Regina?

Supposed to be, and by extension also the tallest in Sask, since currently the Delta in Regina holds that distinction.

From my vantage point, and I can't see the whole building, it looks like it is only one storey high now.

No kidding. We were thinking the same thing when he climbed that pile.

Shortly after this, he broke the claw plate on the bucket and had to shut down early. It was detached and hauled away, but came back on a flatbed this morning and is back in business.

I'm guessing they're pretty much done demolition! (?!) I passed (drove) by earlier last night, and there's no more track hoe (unless it broke down again and is absent for servicing!), just a huge, mostly rubble pile is left of the Plains Hotel! Now the cleanup begins! ...
