Folks, those pointed type skyscrapers were big in the early 1900's in the US. I kind of actually like some of these buildings. Two- Prudential tower in Chicago, Key tower in Clevelend: The Chrysler, Empire State and Woollworth buildings in NY. Charlotte, NC., Atlanta's 3 -4 towers. Primarily a US design. Canada was building skyscrapers many years later than cities in the US.

Good god, not another one. The US is the biggest rich wealthy country in the world. Of course they built way more of them than anyone else. Next people will tell me that French fries are a US invention because they eat more of them than people in Belgium.

No, trying to make sense of someones comments is fine, though, my comments were perfectly sound. The design of modern, very tall buildings with pointy roofs was coined in the US. As Tallbob said, it is primarily a US design.

Looking west along Dundas St. Just to the left of the visible buildings would be Grove Ave

I don't believe I posted this proposal, it's located in the Pleasentville area which is seeing a major redevelopment.

66 Churchill Avenue
Killam Properties - Proposed apartment complex, consisting of three 4 storey buildings, containing 71 units each.
Design wise, this is one of the best current residential proposals in St. John's so far.

Agreed. Modest, clean, modern infill provides important building blocks for any city. Completes the streetscape and great human scaled urban presence.

Mississauga to draft waterfront development plan
