Ten York

I just drove by this site yesterday and thought the lot could be put to good use, and now this! I tells ya, TO is just not stopping .. if only the waterfront neighbourhood could feel more connected to the lake, and more like a neighbourhood. Also, I used to always see renders of all the things! Are there any up-to-date renders of the TO skyline with all proposals and u/c buildings?

Other real estate news from around the city:

Intriguing news on the Lower Donlands site designed by Foster + Partners.

Link via Yyzer on UrbanToronto:

Quote:
“We’re very excited about what’s coming,” says Alfredo Romano, head of Castlepoint Realty, one of the developers of 3C Lakeshore, a 2.4 million-square-foot district that Foster + Partners is master-planning for a former docklands. Romano says the 13-acre, mixed-use site will feature “signature towers” by Foster, along with buildings by the local firms Kuwabara Payne McKenna Blumberg and architectsAlliance.
Pemberton's recently acquired 177-197 Front Street East site has begun soil testing. My estimate for that large site would be 3-4 towers with strong podium component, with heights ranging between 25-40 storeys.

Neilas' 263 Adelaide Street West project will be 45 storeys. It will be mixed-use and contain 60,000 sq ft of office and commercial space as well as 340 residential units. Good chance this will make the top 50 list.

Yup. He takes arrogant, obnoxious, and exaggeration to new levels. I'm actually shocked that it's never occurred to him that it's not Toronto that people hate, but Torontonians with condescending attitudes like his.

Caltrane: you might post lots of pics, but that doesn't give you license to be such a jerk all the time. You're giving us Torontonians a bad name.

Actually, I don't find him a jerk at all. Overenthusiastic city booster (which can be construed as a euphemism for obnoxious and exaggerative)? Perhaps, but not a jerk.

Cal do you really think your obnoxious boosterism doesn't rub people the wrong way and effect Toronto's image?

I bet you probably give more people a negative impression of Toronto than a positive one, which I'm sure its the opposite of your intentions.

I think you're missing my point. I know you love Toronto, and you're here because of that. I'm just saying that you will spread Toronto in a more positive light if you lay off the ridiculous comments and just show Toronto for the great city it is and let people realize its a great city on their own, rather than trying to ram it down their throats.

Opinions are like farts. Everyone likes their own! What intrigues me about Toronto is how many different types of people there are the with different cultures. If everyone was to conform by some of your standards of 'niceness' it would be a rather boring city. Cal, carry on doing your thing pal. I somehow doubt that SSP is where the global population gathers their intel on what kind of a place Toronto is.

Stop crying geeks! Go find yourselves a girlfriend or something...

OOooooh. I like it. Toronto needs some stuff that isn't just a glass box. This looks like just the thing.

This post was a waste of space.

What do opinions have to do with anything here?

What does culture have to do with niceness?

What does niceness have to do with anything?

Who is crying?

Why did you bother posting this?

Answers in order of questions asked.

There are conflicting opinions between Caltrane and other formers about how he should conduct himself on SSP.

There are a wide variety of urban cultures, some known for their 'niceness' others infamous for their 'not-so-niceness.' This is one part of the eclectic mix that constitutes a cosmopolitan city.

Earlier comments inadvertently suggest that Caltrane should be nicer, hence niceness has everything to do with anything.

Crying, was my, granted rather common and poor, euphemistic expression of what some forumers seem to be busy with, while composing their posts. Its use was not intended for offense, but as a mere line drawn at the bottom of the subject, with the hope of briskly returning back to the topic of the forum.

Having seen your post, I now wonder myself.

If you feel the urge to ask further questions, kindly use PM. This forum already has a title.

And while I am it here's a link to our tour of Beyond The Sea. This was the topping off event for the 44 storey tower at Humber Bay.

Looks like this is a preliminary massing study to show the allowed density and the current owner is looking to flip the property over to an interested developer.

200 Dundas Street East, 48 & 35 storeys. Toronto
