Tridel's moving fast with this one. Looks like they want this baby rising asap. This is going to be an incredible Spring 2012 with so many prime projects hitting the market.

120 will almost for sure be a spring 2012 launch the way the market is going right now. If sales are strong it may even see shovels in the ground late 2012.

I don't think if we stop posting that is going to change anything, seeing as how all but 5 or 6 of the top 20 are Toronto anyways..

Cal, some time ago you wondered what the next 200+ metre tower to break ground in Toronto would be, after One Bloor.

Despite it being the latest in a recent string of 200+ metre proposals, I think 10 York may be the answer. Well, that or Eau Du Soleil, if the rumours on that one are true.

The reason is that this is a Build Toronto project, and their first major tower.

There are no nimby's to deal with because this entire area is highrise and highways.

Absolutely nobody is going to complain. - The only issue is how many parking spaces, and how the cares exit and enter the property.

Why anyone would want to live between the highway and the offramp is beyond me. The design is sub par as well. The wedge shape of the site could have been used to make a large flatiron style building.

Architect Rudy Wallman stated that when he was asked by Tridel to create an iconic design for this high-profile site he turned to nature for inspiration. It is the shimmering essence of the Northern Lights which Wallman hopes to capture in the skin of this tower. Vertical bands of windows will extend from the building's four sides. Those strips will extend at different angles and will be clad in differing tones, catching the light at different intensities throughout the day. At night those strips will be lit for dramatic effect, with the vertical architectural gestures culminating in fins reaching skyward to the top of the building's mechanical penthouse. That crown will be sheathed so that it begins to blend the building into the sky.

EDIT: Looks like Tridel and the City are working together to create a massive LED component that will cover the building from ground floor to top . Still being worked on as we speak.

WOW! this thing is gonna be so epic on the gardiner... it's right in the middle of it!. holy cow, this is going to be epic.

though i'm still not completely sold on the design (i don't think it's very balanced), this is a city changer along with ICE. this will be a whole new area of downtown people won't see coming

The previous 1 Bloor and Aura both got massive hype, with newscasts showing people lined up around corners at the launches.

Yeah but that was well after the project was proposed/launched. That (media Buzz) happened when the sales offices opened. This one hasn't even gone into sales yet, that's what I meant.
