Tell me about it! Two weeks ago I took a one day water conference CLE and it was pretty filled up. It was also cheap for the number of credits offered. I can't imagine that so many lawyers wanted to learn about riparian (next to a river) & littoral (property next to a lake, sea, or ocean) water rights and the issues with oil and gas fracking in PA and eastern Ohio - unless they needed the hours.
Frankly, IMHO, mandatory requirements are often a waste of time. I often see people around me on the internet and I once saw two lawyers sit in the back of a large conference in Columbus and make-out during the lecture. Everyone (but the speaker) saw them kissing and feeling each other up, but no one had the balls to say anything. During the last substance abuse lecture many folks (not me) headed right to the bar afterwards...
