That's what I was thinking... 'Google Images' isn't really a source.

I'll just remove the entire list. Cause it's obviously a bit late to collect the sources.

Wow, first time seeing the Longueuil skyline. Those Brutalist apartment blocks are interesting. Very Eastern European-esque (Belgrade?) looking.

You may want to go back and do that with the rest of your posts, and follow the forum rules for photo credits.

Quote:
Third-party articles and images must be properly formatted and credited

Please familiarize yourself with these rules. Once you have you can prevent this section from displaying again by clicking here to collapse this section.

Images
When posting images in the forum which are not your own you are required to provide credit to the originating website of each image.

To properly credit an image please include, above or below the image, the name of the photographer or creator of the image, plus the URL to the webpage the image originates from.

Please note that simply posting the URL of the image as text (along with displaying the image) is not adequate. Additionally, posting just the domain name portion of a URL is not adequate either. The URL must link to a page within the originating website which actually displays the image.

When posting multiple images originating from the same source it is acceptable to give credit just once at the top of the list of images.

Internet memes don't need to be credited.

Articles
Articles, such as news articles or blog posts, must be posted in a special way to avoid copyright infringement. Information about the source of the article must be given and only the beginning portion of the article text may be posted.

When posting an article please include the following information:
- the title of the article,
- the author's name,
- the name of the publication,
- the date of publication,
- a URL to the original article,
- only the first few sentences or the first paragraph of the article (not the entire article).

The exact format you use is up to you but it must contain the above information.

University looks good eh

Although that massive parking lot on Centre & Armoury rd is just begging to be redeveloped. Anyone know of any plans for the site?

Epic shot of Uni Ave! Definitely looks spectacular from up high. Although at ground level, would look to see improvements done for the median. Such as fixing and installing newer/better fountains at Queen. Walked by it a few times this summer, and was pretty embarrassed to see it empty and neglected.

That Centre/Armoury lot should be a strong candidate for a sufficiently large project in the future. I don't think there's any negative impact it can have on City Hall. It's not in the "post card" view perspective nor does it necessarily cause any shadowing issues. It's surrounded by decently high density, and with none of its immediate neighbours posing any NIMBY threat. The RCMI is rather tall for the area and should set height precedents for future projects to go even higher. Hopefully something will be in store for the new year.

University Ave always seems like one of Toronto's missed opportunities to me. It could be a world class urban boulevard, but it feels pretty sterile (I guess court buildings and insurance companies would have that effect in most places). There's not much there to make it a destination. Perhaps someday ....

That is true, don't forget the hospital buildings north of Dundas. Uni Ave definitely has a strong institutional feel to it. Although with limited pedestrian appeal I feel that most of the buildings on it are generally decently designed, from their respective time eras. There's a handful of stone high-rises that I quite like.

The Great Depression robbed Uni Ave's from being Toronto's true Grand Avenue with superior architecture and streetscaping. Check this link for what could have been for Vimy Circle and Cambrai Avenue.

University is a great escape from the crowded streets from Toronto. At least one street where you will not be pushed in the back by the pedestrian crush, for walking slowly.

And the sidewalks are soooooo wide. Which helps.

Jesus, Caltrane, get a grip. I go to Toronto a few times each year and I have never experienced crowded sidewalks like you describe. Your constant efforts to make Toronto sounds like Tokyo (or Dubai, or New York...) is a little too much sometimes.

No main street downtown isn't busy. This is the only one.

Please prove me wrong.

Yonge Street?
Spadina?
Queen West?
King West?
Bay Street?
Bloor Street?
Church Street?

You tell me...

University is the only one....I can think of.

Yonge Street photos by me
