It's related to the church welfare program. If somebody is receiving assistance from the church, they may be directed to go to the Bishop's storehouse to get groceries and other basic household items. It's like a grocery store, but not open to the cash-paying public. You can only shop there with the church equivalent of food stamps. There are a bunch of them scattered around Utah and the West, often located near "DI" stores, which I imagine you are more familiar with.

The items available there very often carry the church's "Deseret" brand, and are produced by church-owned agricultural enterprises (Farmland Reserve, Deseret Ranches, etc.). If you ever hear a church member say something about working a volunteer shift at "the cannery" or something else with a suspiciously similar theme, it's all part of the same system.
