Estimée à 160 millions$, la Tour Avenue des Canadiens, développée par Cadillac-Fairview Limitée, attendrait 61 étages et ferait partie intégrante d'un complexe totalisant 400 millions$. Il s'agirait du plus haut gratte-ciel construit depuis les 20 dernières années dans la métropole.

En s'installant à côté du Centre Bell, la Tour Avenue des Canadiens deviendrait le plus haut gratte-ciel construit à Montréal depuis 20 ans, d'une hauteur semblable à celle de l'ancienne tour IBM-Marathon. La construction de 61 étages, évaluée à plus de 160 millions de dollars, offrirait plus de 700 logements sur 47 étages, au-dessus d'un basilaire commercial de 14 étages. L'édifice, qui occuperait l'intersection sud-est de la rue de la Montagne et de l'avenue des Canadiens-de-Montréal, s'inscrit donc pleinement dans l'objectif du Plan d'urbanisme de rehausser la mixité des usages au centre-ville.

The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit proposals from qualified constructors to provide pre-construction, tendering, construction services and post construction for the new Student Learning Centre to be constructed on the north east corner of Yonge and Gould Streets, Toronto. It is Ryerson's intent that the successful contractor will enter into a CCDC 3, 1998, with amendments, utilizing the Guaranteed Maximum Price option. Once all the tender packages have been finalized the contract will be converted into a guaranteed maximum price. Contractors must have the required qualifications to competently co-ordinate and successfully complete this project as the designated constructor. Joint ventures will not be considered for this RFP. Contractors who intend to submit their proposals for this project are invited to complete and submit the required forms and other requirements included in this RFP. A briefing session will be held on Monday October 3rd, 2011 at 10:00. All particulars are within the call document. More info can be obtained by calling 1-800-964-6379 .
The Architects are working in Joint-venture on this project.

Yeah, but don't forget that the Plan d'urbanisme de la Ville de Montréal is exclusively valid for Montreal city. In other words, the other cities located on the island (i.e. Westmount, wich has already got a few towers) could build taller buildings!

Maybe they COULD, but these places in blue are arguably the places where you'll find the most hard core nimbys in the country!

^the purpose is NOT to have tall towers, more row housing, low-rise, townhouses. Offer something different, create density the old fashioned way. Keep in mind that if you want towers, 6 blocks south is Downtown.
