they look like squashed versions, because there is a height restriction as to how hight developers can build these towers up. i wish they could relax the height restrictions just a bit so that there is some variety, and not a table top effect (probably too late for that).
lots of immigrants from asia live in richmond, particularly from mainland china, hk and taiwan. used to living in apartment buildings. so it's not surprising then, that there's a lot of condo's being built almost everywhere. i think richmond is going to be one of the densest cities in the lower mainland (partly because they don't have much space, and will be forced to build up, as opposed to building "out").
but i do agree with you. there needs to be better design to these towers. they DO look all the same :S
getting a bit ridiculous.
