Minneapolis has one of the best looking skylines in the U.S. IMHO, but the first time I drove by these projects I was absolutely amazed at how out of place, ugly and run down they were. Those randomly place colored panels are just bizarre. They just don't fit in Minneapolis (or anywhere else).

While I am not a fan of this building, it does kind of work in the context of Macao... Just like Taipei 101 works in the context of Taiwan, except for its silly height with nothing around it....
I am not sure of the name of it, but there is a brutalist concrete building in downtown Pontiac Michigan that absolutely ruins a skyline that is otherwise pretty decent (art decco and moderist glass).
I always feel like these threads are too limiting - or maybe there are too many options. A recent architectural turd I had the displeasure of seeing every day during my visit to Indianapolis was the Hyatt/PNC Center. It was bad enough that it was located adjacent to two gorgeous examples of classic architecture (the State Capitol and the Repertory Theater), but even on its own merit, it's just f'ing horrific:
It's a hotel, an exhibition hell, international trade centre, offices, and connected to a train station. It was also the largest building in the world when it was built.
