La Cité Verte is stunning. Beautiful modern, brick and glass buildings. Blends perfectly with the original older structures, while adding a modern touch. Très impressionnant, bravo Quebec City.

Heres some crane action from Canada's Wonderland. It's hard to see the crane in some of these pics. It like Where's Waldo.
From Highway 400.

From Keele Street North of Teston Road.

Entering Canada's Wonderland.

Leviathan moves up about 15 more feet.

All pictures by me.

Another condo highrise is supposed to break ground soon just next to the previous one as you can se from the sales office situated near the crane.

Still in the same part of town, construction of a 29-story tower is under way.

Impressive stuff happening in QC and Montreal. That's some pretty high quality stonework in the Place D'Armes renovation.

I think that building they are demolishing at Victoria Square would have looked OK in a few other places. It didn't belong in such a prestigious location, but I could have seen it actually looking good somewhere like Ville-Emard or Cote-Saint-Paul.

Information Booth: Three red cranes signal life at MaRS

Peter Kuitenbrouwer Oct 11, 2011 – 8:33 AM ET

Quote:
In 2007 MaRS began Phase 2, a 20-storey, 750,000 square-foot glass box. But transforming “Ideas to Reality” proved more difficult than just painting the slogan on a stretch of plywood. Pasadena, California-based Alexandria Real Estate Equities Inc., MaRS’s development partner, halted the project in the fall of 2008, citing liquidity issues. Tenants also proved scarce; Randal Froebelius, vice-president of real estate for MaRS, told the Post: “We don’t want to build an empty building.”
Quote:
This July workers returned to the job site after Ontario expanded the loan program of Infrastructure Ontario, a provincial Crown agency, to include MaRS. The agency is lending MaRS $230-million to build the tower.
Quote:
“The current MaRS Centre is at full occupancy, and cannot meet the increasing demand for space,” MaRS said in a news release. The Ontario Institute for Cancer Research and Public Health Ontario have both signed on as tenants at the new tower, which MaRS plans to open in 2013.
