^Check the respective threads on each building.

Decided to finish the revamp of the top of my model. It's much more accurate now.

Okay,I don't like this. Why does it say on the first picture that 1 WTC is only 85 floors and then the second picture replies that it will be 105 stories into the air. I was never happy that this building would only be increased by the spire in height and that it had less floors than the towers that stood before it. I know I may be whining but is there any particular reason the floors in the top are extremely large? Sorry, but this doesn't make sense to me.This should be as close to 110 floors as possible. Not a stupid "85-story building with a 104 floor". Hope they can change the plans and maybe add a pod on the spire since it's huge enough. I just want this to be a true successor to the ESB like the Twins were. I'm done with the rant.

^Buildings usually have futzed up numbers. As I've said elsewhere, the ESB only really has 98 stories, and that includes floors that are really glorified stair landings. It's a 98 story building with a 103rd floor. This is an 85 story building with a 104th. Trump Tower Chicago doesn't really have 98 floors either. How many western buildings are missing their 13th floor? How many chinese floors lack a 4th,14th, 24th, etc.? The Sears Tower and Yamasaki WTC are/were the exception in that they don't/didn't skip any floors. Even then, Sears counted the roofs in its marketing material to match the 110 floors of the NY buildings.

Stick around; it'll probably change. Consistency has never really been a strong suit at SSP.

So The Twin Towers were basically the only tall buildings that didn't skip floors? We have truly lost a lot on 9/11. Oh well,I still like the new WTC. I will wait until another supertall is planned.

Not from an architectural standpoint we didn't. In fact, getting rid of those two huge, featureless behemoths is the one thing the terrorists did that I like. I can't imagine why it took so long to come up with replacements for the twin towers. Anything would have been an improvement.

To each his own, I suppose, but I'm disappointed that anyone would think that. The twin towers were 2 mighty, iconic structures, and as cliche as it is, they were symbols of New York. Nothing said power like those 2 identical monoliths. Just because a building has all-glass cladding and an odd geometric gimmick or 2 doesn't make it better than the simple, would-be-everlasting design that was the twin towers. IMO, that design would still hold up better than many recent towers/proposals.

^Don't feed the trolls.

Phil: Yeah, thanking mass murderers is trolling. I don't care if it was hyperbole. You should know better.

The Twin Towers were iconic structures. Symbols of New York they were, but to the rest of the world they were a symbol of globalization. People that hated our way of life wanted to destroy them, and they did, but we will rebuild better then ever with the new One World Trade Center, and the other buildings surrounding the site, and even though they might again symbolize globalization we shall defend those buildings from future Terrorist attacks.

In this economy? Don't hold your breath, whiner. You should be thankful for what's being built, sheesh!

Those renderings are awesome STR. I'm not sure though if they are going to be using that communications ring though because in the latest WTC video that was posted, and on the website, it shows the old one. Maybe they're just wrong though, like always.

OK, STR. But what is the reason why this great and about all serious site hasn't the REAL NUMBER OF FLOORS for every skyscraper ? If the ESB has 98 floors and the 1 WTC will have 85 floors I don't realize why we must to say 102 and 105 floors ( and therefore why not 130 or 200 floors ????? ). I think that even the real number of floors is VERY IMPORTANT in a skyscraper !!!
