Oh yes, after a warm and humid day, hell breaks out in the evening. Last week on saterday evening there was a big thunderstorm with hundreds of lightnings and hail balls as big as chicken eggs! Caused a lot of damage.

So in the one week we stayed in NYC, there were thunderstorms after a warm day, so I thought it was as 'traditional' as in our place (Belgium).

Well New York is great, just great! We visited a lot of big cities over the last 25 years or so. But I think NY beats almost all. We really had a wonderful time over there and will certainly NYC and other North American cities.

It was a 360° view over New York, so that was rather exiting...

Unfortunately, severe thunderstorms tornados are quite "traditional" in the midwest.

Personaly I found Beekman Tower by Gehry one of the better additions to the New York skyline. The shape refers to the older, gotic skyscrapers I suppose. I like the colour, the material and the shape. Only the top could have been better. Looks like it's unfinished.

Woolworth is a nice classic skyscraper, but somewhat too gotic to me.

I prefer the art deco of Chrysler Buidling, in my opinion the best and most beautiful scraper in New York and maybe the world.

It's a matter of time before this block is developed. The Rockefeller group owns the entire block except for the little building on the corner with the cowboy/Guess billboard.

Supposedly, the hope to build a hotel with retail.
