they are just concourses people go there for the action on the field, as long as they can get food and enjoy their seat who cares about a hallway?

Btw, just found out I'm going to the Lion's game on opening day!
The concourses have been remodelled as have the washrooms and concessions.
I would venture a guess that the lockerrooms have indeed been upgraded also.
I mean isnt the whole idea of this project to enhance sport? So why would then NOT remodel the lockerrooms.

I think it adds to the overall experience(s) of being at the stadium for the game. It's kind of like being at the old BC Place. Those concourses sucked, and watching the game stunk. The experience of being at BC Place overall, was just terrible. I'm just curious why they couldn't add more 'spice' to the concourses. like Rogers Arena has to their concourses.

Well. We don't know for sure if the locker rooms have been renovated. I wouldn't be surprised if they haven't been. If you want to attract top level talent, maybe we should have paid a little bit more attention to things like this. The Aquilini's did with their stadium (renovations of a lot of things, including the locker rooms, etc) for their players. It's probably one of the reasons why the 'Caps still want their own stadium, as opposed to sharing one with the Lions.

Not sure why people keep saying the locker rooms haven't been done, there are pics out there of the new rooms. Also the Whitecaps are not still looking at getting a new stadium regardless of their "offical" position.

I haven't seen pics of the new rooms. Nobody here has posted them, to my knowledge. Unless I'm mistaken :\

At long last the plastic wrap is coming off the seats. Now it will really start to look colourful. Safety nets are coming down from the ceiling fast too. Yippee!

ICON Venue Group was hired by the Vancouver Whitecaps as the team representative to ensure that the BC Place modernization would be completed in compliance with team requirements and MLS facility standards. The renovations of BC Place will occur in two phases. Phase I, completed prior to the Winter 2010 Olympic games, consisted primarily of the redevelopment of all common spaces, concessions, washrooms, exterior plazas, media facilities, dressing rooms and general public areas in addition to a comprehensive refurbishment of all suites, and the establishment of a club seat area. Phase two of the renovation plan includes the installation of a state-of-the-art retractable roof and additional soccer-specific renovations including on-field seating, a secondary roof, end zone curtain, premium seating, turf upgrade, retractable seating, ribbon boards, and a center hung scoreboard.

http://www.bcplacestadium.com/index.php/roof.html Click this link and on the left side of the centre image you will see a heading: Interior Upgrades. You will also notice that there ARE video screens above the concession counters.

Can we please move on.

What does this link have to do with whether the dressing rooms have in fact been renovated?

Anyone who has been following events knows that new dressing rooms have always been a part of Pavco's plans. Pavco, for example, is on video speaking about them. But have the dressing rooms in fact been renovated yet? Quite possibly. But that doesn't change the fact that no one has posted any photos of such renovations on this forum.

They were inevitably going to look disappointing compared to the Canucks facilities. The Canucks have the Cadillac of dressing rooms by any league's standard.

Yup. I heard from Lenarduzzi that the 'Caps signed a 20-year lease for BC Place.

If you read the blog back a couple of pages you will discover what the issue was and which blogger started this dialogue. One of the issues was that there were no hd screens installed in the concourses...which is not true. Most if not all the bloggers on this thread are aware of the BCPlace website and the access to construction cams. There is no need to post pics here of the interior and concourses, suites etc because all of that info and the pics are already available on the BCPlace website.

Dont shoot the messenger. Believe me, I am well aware of PAVCO's plans for the dressingrooms etc. As is jlousa.
